Too short...

We managed to get away for the weekend and headed up to the mountains for some relaxation. Also, to get away from the 80-degree weather (YUCK!). It was around 50 up at Shaver :)

We also had some visitors...

And got some play time in...

It was beautiful, and I wish we didn't have to come home so soon. Here's to another work week...le sigh! Are you ready for Monday?

This Year

The time it was 70 degrees in January.

The time I re-did the guest bathroom.

The time we got a new puppy.

The time we ripped out our planter and made it our own.

The time we took a spontaneous drive.

The time my sister was having a baby.

Madelyn Rae...I'm an aunt!

The time I made a bomb cake for Mother's Day.

The time they were best friends.

The time I saved a life.

The time of year when the flowers are amazing.

The time we took a walk by our cabin (the parents).

The time my cat drove me crazy.

The time we hiked down to the lake to watch a fireworks show.

The time I found a birdhouse in the forest.

I just love this.

The time we had a blogger birthday retreat.

The time we were going to meet more bloggers, and be ridiculously silly.

The time we saw the big trees.

The time we hiked to an old logger camp.

The time we went to Michigan.

The time we drove to Mackinac bridge.

The time we become one of those people.

Thanksgiving.

My favorite picture of us.

The time I was really bored and she is obviously very happy.

The time we got new carpet!

The time he surprised me, and i said yes.

The time we got engaged.

Here's to a much better year, if that is even possible. I think it is!

PS. Thanks to all the lovelies that made this year possible :)

Why we love fall...

I'm going to start a new thing: post pictures on my blog before Facebook! Genius!!!

So as most of you know, my family has a "cabin" up in the mountains (Shaver Lake). Anyways, we haven't been there in quite a while and we ventured up there this weekend in hopes of nice weather and great scenery. Yeah, it was pretty much perfect. You should go.

On a little walk, just a hop and skip away from the house.

The colors were beautiful, and the dogs were in doggie heaven.

Posing for a picture in all of our grubby glory!

It'd rained a bunch a few weeks before, so the creek was full of water.

Sadie may or may not have clumsily fallen into a few pools of water while she was running around. ADD much?

Nothing better than seeing Tundra running around in the wilderness.

I hope you are all able to be experiencing fall in all of it's glory! It's pretty much the best thing ever. We spent our time up there collecting acorns and sticks for hopeful craft projects, building fires, and trying to find deer (which kind of failed a little bit, boo).

OH! Since I'm posting pretty pictures and all... here's a few good ones from our Michigan trip, which I will probably not end up blogging about because who blogs about trips 2 months later? Oh not me, neverrrr....

Oh yeah, why hello there...!

WOW I totally have sucked at updating...it's been AN ENTIRE MONTH. I blame this 100% on the fact that my e-mail change totally effed up my ability to blog. Yeah, I'll blame that. Not myself, nope. Never!!!

Well my main reason to update is to tell you about a giveaway hosted by the lovely Talia. She is giving away a ton of super cute fall-inspired things - annddd, one of those include one of my leafy hair pins! YAY! Some of my favorite people are also giving away items from their Etsy shops. Totally love this group of ladies! So if you haven't been over to her blog, you better hurry up! Leave a comment on her giveaway post by October 8th!!!

Some other things..
*Just got back from a week in Michigan - probably a post full of pictures to come soon!
*We left a week ago and it was 100 degrees, and today it's 70!!! LOVE IT.
*Planning on adding some new things to my Etsy shop this week.
*Getting excited about decorating for Halloween/Fall. I think I'm going to do that this afternoon. My giant orange tub of decor is calling my name. Do you guys have anything decor-wise you've done for fall?

Just a little fall inspiration for ya. One picture from our trip :)

I took advatage...

...of the Southwest airlines sale, sillies. So, we're going back! And it got me thinking: how often do you guys get to go visit out of state family?

Since I always worry about money, with the house and all, I don't typically splurge on anything. I spend my free time pulling weeds (half kidding!) instead of going to the movies. But, I think family is super important. So instead of buying a new house thing, we buy a trip :)

So here's to praying this time around it's not 15 degrees and snowy, but instead we can spend time outside in the beautiful fall colors.

PS, no, those dang Michigan commercials have not lured me into going there! Have you seen those? They are on 24/7!!!

Cuteness in the Kitchen

I thought I would share some lovely kitchen things I have found on the Internetz lately (ie., I have nothing better to do). Hope you enjoy :)

Lovebird S&P shakers! SO CUTE! I am determined to have somebody buy me these (hint hint wink wink, anyone? Bueller?)

These awesome bird measuring spoons. Yeah they are uber expensive, at least in my book. Maybe something to stick on a wedding registry?

Graphic bowl/plates found at Urban. I saw these a few weeks ago, they are so adorable. If only mis-matched dishes were cool...

I still think my friend over at BeanPickleSprout has the cuuuuutest potholders/placemats/dish towels on the entire Internet!

I could list about 80 things from Anthropologie on this one, but this honey jar is calling my name at the moment. My other fav's are the grapefruit sugar bowl and goose measuring cups. Heart.

I purchased a few different kitchen prints not to long ago, but this one was also on my list of NEEDS. Who doesn't need a cupcake?

And how about something for the dogs and cats? These pet feeders are simple, yet awesome. And! You can get the painted any color, win-win.

And who could forget a cute apron? There are millions out there, MILLIONS I tell ya! I could waste hours finding the best of the best. But right now, this one does it for me.
